The Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division of the LOC features motion picture films, films created for television, and documentary films showing such topics as daily life in earlier times, the activity of politicians, war events, science and engineering, the early motion picture industry itself, and the progress of large engineering projects. Films date from as early as the late 1800s.
Shown here is a film showing former U.S. president Theodore Roosevelt on a zoological expedition in the Amazon Valley of Brazil, and a photograph of two men using an early movie camera.
